Meaning of the Symbol Mark

To express the meaning behind "the world-class city where the souls of craftsmen live," the symbol mark of Anseong represents the Anseong Matchum brassware crafting masters, Taegeuk symbolizing the soul of Baudeogi, and the traditional gate that implies that Anseong is the gateway to global arts and cultures. The flow of the straight, yet curved lines was conceived from the movements of Anseong's representative dance, Taepyeongmu, symbolizing the harmony of blue and red. Two visual elements cross each other and combine together, implying the harmony of Western and Oriental influences, as well as the harmony of the past Anseong and the future Anseong, and the harmony of sophisticated technology and culture. In particular, the harmony of tradition and modernity and of the past and the future was expressed in the blue-orange contrast, raising visual attraction, while the future of the positive and colorful Anseong was expressed in gradational colors.
